Deadline game story exercise, Sept. 27, 2013:
You will keep statistics, do post-game interviews and write a deadline game story about the Clarke Central vs. Apalachee football game, which starts at 7:30 p.m. Students in Prof. Suggs’ lab section will focus on Apalachee. Students in Prof. Michaelis’ section will focus on Clarke Central.
For statistics, you will keep passing, rushing and miscellaneous statistics in teams. Students in Prof. Suggs’ class will track Apalachee statistics. Students in Prof. Michaelis’ class will track Clarke Central statistics. Please designate one team member to email the statistics to Prof. Suggs immediately after post-game interviews end. Prof. Suggs will post them to the class web site ASAP, so that everyone in the class will have statistics from both teams for their stories.
The passing team should provide individual and team passing totals, including full quarterback stat lines and individual receiving totals (catches and yards). The rushing team should provide individual and team rushing totals (both rushes and yards for each).
You should keep your own play-by-play and scoring summary.
Parking is available at 394 S. Milledge, behind the UGA Foundation building. You are expected to arrive by 6:45 p.m. and to stay the duration of the game. Remember to bring your Grady Sports Media credential. Be ready to show it at both the parking lot and at the gate. At the Clarke Central stadium, you need to check in with the pass gate attendant, who has a list of our names.
Your 500-word game story is due to your lab professor by 11:59 p.m. the same night. Please email stories to Prof. Michaelis; share them via Google docs with Prof. Suggs.
