FSU, Clemson second day game story

I really liked the approach Andy Staples took for his second day game story for Sports Illustrated about the Florida State and Clemson game. The lead is interesting and draws in the reader. The focus on FSU’s success in the past was smart because Staples made it relevant to today by using it as a comparison technique to this year’s FSU football team. He matched old players’ names to their current counterparts. He explained that the victory over Clemson yesterday was a glimpse of the old glory days for FSU. The story was insightful and clearly researched, via the inclusion of past figures. I think it was a good storyline to tell. It praises FSU, but it’s also backed up with evidence to do so.
