Two Good Advance Stories

This article follows the traditional advance arc.  I like how the writer included a lot of detail about each of the team’s previous two games to give context about how their season has gone.  The article also uses quote often, but also effectively.  Bringing up how Tennessee is gaining a defensive player back, yet also losing another is very useful information considering Oregon’s offensive reputation.

The much-anticipated Manning Bowl.  The article is centered around the all-important sibling rivalry, using their match-up as the focus.  The article also looks at other match-ups, notably the Giants secondary vs. the Broncos receiving corps.  Implications are also a big part of the story; the advance considers the Giants starting 0-2 on the season.  Instead of focusing solely on the Manning brothers, this advance story goes out of its way to  cover all aspects of the match-up.
