Two Good Blogs on My Beat

For my beat, which is covering the Pacific-12 and the Western Athletic Conference, I have chosen two sites which are relatively opposite in their writing style. Firstly, I chose the Pac-12 Blog on ESPN.com, which is a great source for strong, interview and forecasting centered journalism about the conference and also for finding link-dumps to other sources. While sometimes it may rely heavily on forecasting recruiting, when the season resumes it is one of the premier places to access insider news on all things Pac-12 football. Secondly, I chose PacificTakes.com, which is an SBNation site. Because the site is primarily intended to be written and read by hardcore fans, the site focuses less on journalism and more on analyzing the conference team by team. Though it can sometimes deviate from football to talk other sports or even pop-culture, the analysis done and the questions asked and answered by the writers is so poignant that it may be considered a reputable source on the conference.
