Federer as Religious Experience

This piece by David Foster Wallace from the 2006 Wimbledon men’s final is easily one of my favorite sports stories, simply because it so fully engrosses you in the descriptive words of Federer’s impressive style of play that you completely forget about the magnitude of the match being recapped. The article is more an ode to Federer that dives into the intricacies of his awe-inspiring talent, a well-executed attempt at converting readers to the religion that is Federer and experience what Wallace describes as “Federer Moments”.
